Back when many of these vehicles were made, a bench seat came standard on almost all cars and trucks. In fact, Chevrolet was the car company that maintained a vehicle with a standard front bench seat the longest. Until 2013 the Chevy Impala came standard with one, but was then completely redesigned to fit consumer needs and desires. Although at times it can be more useful for large families to have a third seat in the front, today’s American culture is definitely more concerned with the personal utility of more comfortable bucket seats and storage space from a center console.
Fast food, drive-through culture has brought meal time to the car often times. The car is now both for family and an extension of the office for many people. Adults have longer commutes to work than they used to and need space for a morning coffee and work materials in the car, along with things needed for family time trips.
But for others, driving their vintage bench front seat cars with no cup holders and a lack of storage space is a joy, and even a daily occurrence. Without the need for the extra seating, our products are an easy upgrade for these vehicles. They are sure to come in a color that will match your Chevy, and bring a more modern feel while keeping the exterior classic.
