Warranty & What's Included
Before you order a classic car radio or speaker package, it helps to know what typically arrives in the box, what the manufacturer warranty covers, and what Vintage Car Radio does—and does not—do after the sale. This page summarizes those expectations in one place.
Installation note: Vintage Car Radio does not offer vehicle installation services. Product support means helping you choose the right part, point you to manuals, and process warranty claims with the manufacturer when needed. Physical installation in the car is DIY or through a shop you select.
Custom Autosound (CAS) Warranty Snapshot
Custom Autosound USA-series radios and many related CAS products are backed by a 2-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Warranty terms live with the manufacturer: keep your order confirmation and do not modify the unit in ways that void coverage (for example, unauthorized board repairs or clear physical abuse).
Warranty is not a substitute for correct wiring. Damage from reverse polarity, inadequate fusing, water intrusion, or incorrect speaker loads is typically outside normal coverage. When in doubt, bench-test with a fused supply and follow the harness diagram in the manual.
What Is Usually in the Box
Exact contents vary by model—always check the product page—but a typical in-dash classic radio shipment includes:
- The radio chassis with shafts / nosepiece appropriate to the application
- A vehicle- or product-specific wiring harness (you adapt it to the car)
- Knob set and hardware called out for that model
- Basic installation sheet or a link to a downloadable manual
What is often not included unless listed:
- A dash bezel (many radios install from behind the dash into the existing opening)
- Speakers, antenna mast, or amplifier
- Bluetooth kits on radios that list Bluetooth as optional
- Professional installation labor
Hideaway systems ship as a chassis plus the control method sold with that kit (remote, panel, or app-oriented control). Confirm microphone, USB extension, and mounting brackets on the listing.
Manuals and Tech Resources
PDF manuals and conversion sheets for many Custom Autosound models are collected on our Manuals page. Individual product pages also link manuals and wiring/tech tips where we have published them. Read the wiring colors and fuse recommendations before you cut factory wires.
Returns, Defects, and “It Doesn’t Fit”
Fitment questions are best solved before checkout: year, make, model, body style, and photos of the dash opening prevent most mismatches. If a unit arrives damaged in shipping or fails on bench test, contact us promptly with your order number so we can help coordinate inspection or replacement under the applicable policy.
“Doesn’t sound loud enough” after installing into a single worn dash speaker is usually a system design issue, not a warranty defect. Pair stereo speakers—and an amplifier when you want serious volume—using the guidance in Speakers & Wiring Basics.
How We Help After You Buy
- Product selection: call 844-802-4499 with your vehicle details.
- Documentation: manuals hub, product Specs / Manuals / FAQ tabs on updated product pages.
- Warranty process: we help you work through manufacturer warranty steps when a covered defect appears.
- Not offered: sending a technician to install the radio in your vehicle, or taking in cars for stereo labor.
Separate from parts sales, some specialty electronics upgrades (for example certain Aurora Design work on customer-supplied radios) are handled as send-in services described on their own pages or by phone. That is not the same as installing a new stereo into your car.
