Product Description
The 1955 Ford had a handsome dash with a round-faced radio at its center. This 1955 Ford DeLuxe Radio AM/FM/Bluetooth from Antique Automobile Radio looks, feels, installs and operates like the original, while adding FM stereo, Bluetooth and enough power for modern speakers.
Looks and Works Like the Original
The outer knob is on/off/volume, the inner knob is tuning and the horizontal knob is tone, just as on the factory radio. When the radio is on, the dial pointer, knobs and pushbuttons move and work like the original. The AM scale on the dial glass is an exact copy of the original, with a smaller FM scale hidden in the background. To switch between AM and FM, turn the radio off and quickly back on. There is no digital display to spoil the look.

Speaker Notes
Antique Automobile Radio warns not to use original, grounded speakers: the radio has a protective circuit that shuts down if a speaker wire is grounded or faulty. It recommends 4-ohm speakers rated at 40 watts RMS or more. The dual voice coil dash speaker offered here gives stereo from the single original speaker location.
Electrical Requirements
The radio runs on 11.5 to 16 volts DC, negative ground only. Antique Automobile Radio offers power inverters for 6-volt positive ground vehicles. Check your car's system before installing.
Installation
A 12-wire harness with plug-in connectors includes power, ground, a 12-volt output for a power antenna or amplifier, four speaker connections and dial lights. The radio uses the original mounting, so installation is straightforward for most owners.
Why a Reproduction
An original 1955 Ford radio is AM only and often needs major repair. A reproduction keeps the face and feel while giving you FM stereo, Bluetooth and dependable reception, and you can keep the original radio safe.
