GMC pickups from 1947 to 1966 span the Advance Design and Task Force eras through the early C/K trucks, and most left the factory without seat belts. Seatbelt Planet's set gives each of the three bench riders a reel-mounted hip strap and a steel push button latch, bolts supplied.
Vehicle Fit
Seatbelt Planet lists the kit for 1947-1966 GMC standard cab pickups at the driver, passenger and center seating positions.
Choosing a Color
Fifty-two webbing shades are offered, thirteen at a premium. Earthy shades like tan or brown suit the plain interiors of early GMC trucks.
Why Upgrade?
Riding in an early pickup without belts is common, but adding three retractable lap belts gives every passenger a belt while keeping the uncluttered look of the cab.
Maintenance
Clean the straps with mild soap and water and keep them clear of the bench springs and seat frame.
About the 1947-1966 GMC Pickup
GMC's postwar trucks shared bodies with Chevrolet but often used GMC's own engines, including inline sixes and later V6 and V8 options. The 1960-1966 trucks introduced a lower stance and a new chassis.
Pre-Install Checklist
Many early trucks lack factory anchor points, so confirm that solid mounts exist or have been properly reinforced before relying on any belt.
Good to Know
Hardware is included.
Retractors keep the lap belts tucked away when the cab is empty.
Seatbelt Planet sews the kit to order in your color.
Three belts let a vintage GMC carry a full bench of riders to shows and cruises.
Lap belts suit early cabs, where the back wall often lacks a strong spot for a shoulder mount.
A matching set looks right in a restored Advance Design or Task Force cab.
Advance Design GMC trucks from 1947 to 1955 are prized for their rounded fenders and five-window cab options, and lap belts suit their simple interior.
Task Force trucks from 1955 to 1959 added a wraparound windshield, while the 1960-1966 trucks moved to a lower, wider cab, but all of them seat three on a bench.
Retractors mean you will not find loose belts tangled under the seat when you climb in.
These belts also look right in a restomod that keeps the original bench but adds modern power and brakes.
Plan the floor anchor spots before the belts arrive.
Early GMCs are some of the most loved classic trucks around.
