Pontiac's GTO practically invented the muscle car, and plenty of Goats from 1967 to 1973 still ride on the original front buckets with lap-only belts. Seatbelt Planet's two-belt kit swaps them for a reel-fed hip-and-chest belt on each bucket, both finishing in a steel push button latch. Mounting hardware comes in the box.
Vehicle Fit
Seatbelt Planet lists this pair for the front bucket seats of 1967-1973 Pontiac GTOs, covering the driver and front passenger.
Choosing a Color
Fifty-two strap shades are on offer for the Goat, thirteen counted as premium. GTO interiors came in black, parchment, red, blue, turquoise, gold and more, so finding a close match is easy.
Why Upgrade?
A shoulder strap makes a real difference in a car with this much power, and a retractor keeps the belt tidy instead of draped across the console. Original GTO belts are now over fifty years old and are often frayed, sun-bleached or missing their buckles.
Maintenance
Wipe the straps with a damp cloth and gentle soap, keep the metal buckles from banging into the door panels, and let each reel draw the webbing back at its own pace.
About the 1967-1973 Pontiac GTO
The GTO began as a 1964 Tempest LeMans option and became its own series for 1966. The 1968-1972 cars introduced the body-colored Endura front bumper and, from 1969, The Judge package. For 1973 the GTO moved to the Colonnade A-body before the name shifted to the Ventura for 1974.
Pre-Install Checklist
Inspect each bucket's floor point plus the upper mount on the roof rail or B-pillar. Clean the threads and confirm that the upper anchors exist in your body style.
Good to Know
Hardware is part of the kit.
Buying the pair together means both buckets get identical webbing, and the retractors pull with the same tension on each side.
Seatbelt Planet stitches each belt after you order, cutting it from fresh webbing in the shade you selected.
Judge owners often pick a webbing color that echoes the car's stripes or the orange, green or white interior accents.
A console-equipped GTO keeps the buckle stalks close to the seat, and the retractable shoulder belts pull out of the way when you lean over to reach the shifter.
Many restored Goats see real highway miles today, and three-point belts make those trips more comfortable as well as tidier.
Classic muscle cars like the GTO are judged closely at shows, and fresh belts in a factory-correct color help an interior score well.
