The Seatbelt Planet 1982-1987 Buick Grand National, Driver & Passenger, Bench or Bucket Seat Belt Kit, sold by Vintage Car Radio is an outstanding, direct-fit safety upgrade that brings modern protection and period-correct style to these legendary turbocharged muscle icons.

The Buick Grand National (1982-1987), a high-performance variant of the Regal, is one of the most revered American cars of the 1980s. With its menacing all-black exterior, subtle badging, and aggressive stance, the GN delivered thrilling performance from the turbocharged 3.8L V6 engine (producing up to 245 hp in later intercooled models). It combined luxury features like plush interiors, bucket seats (standard in most GNs), and a sporty cockpit with raw power—often outrunning V8 muscle cars of the era. The Grand National's bench seat option appeared in some base configurations or early models, but bucket seats dominated for that driver-focused feel. Original seat belts were typically early 3-point designs that faded, frayed, or lacked modern durability, making a quality replacement essential for safe, confident driving on today's roads.

This Seatbelt Planet kit is versatile and precision-tailored for 1982-1987 Buick Grand National front positions, accommodating both bench and bucket seat setups. It provides driver and passenger 3-point lap-and-shoulder belts (retractable or non-retractable options available) for superior restraint. Premium, fade-resistant webbing comes in over 30 colors to match or accent your interior—classic black for the signature GN stealth look, gray tones for factory authenticity, or bold custom shades that complement the plush vinyl or cloth upholstery seamlessly.

The belts feature secure all-metal buckles (often push button style) for quick, intuitive fastening with a solid, reassuring click—easy even during quick stops or at car shows. Chrome-plated hardware and fittings integrate flawlessly with the Grand National's bright trim, dash accents, and dark-themed brightwork, ensuring a factory-fresh, concours-correct appearance that looks original rather than aftermarket.

Installation is straightforward and restoration-friendly: the kit includes all necessary mounting hardware, bolting securely into existing floor points or with minimal additions—no major chassis modifications required. Adjustable straps deliver a comfortable, snug fit for various body types, supporting spirited acceleration or long cruises without restriction.

Seatbelt Planet builds these to meet or exceed FMVSS 209 and 302 standards, guaranteeing exceptional strength, durability, and flame resistance for genuine peace of mind. Enthusiasts praise the clean integration, reliable performance, and how it enhances safety while preserving the Grand National's heritage menace, turbocharged thrill, and show-worthiness—protecting you and your passenger without compromising the car's legendary status.

Vintage Car Radio, a trusted Seatbelt Planet retailer, offers fast shipping, secure packaging, and excellent support. It's a smart investment that completes your safety refresh, adds lasting value to your restoration or driver, and encourages responsible enjoyment of this 1980s icon.

In summary, the Seatbelt Planet 1982-1987 Buick Grand National Driver & Passenger Bench or Bucket Seat Belt Kit is a stylish, durable, and highly recommended essential. It masterfully blends period authenticity with superior modern restraint, elevating every drive.
