The Seatbelt Planet 1982-1987 Buick Regal, Rear Center Seat Belt Hardware not included, sold by Vintage Car Radio, is a smart, targeted solution for owners who already have anchors in place and simply need a fresh, reliable center belt to complete the rear bench.

The rear seat of an 1980s Buick Regal was one of its unsung strengths. Behind those front buckets or bench, you had a surprisingly generous bench with enough cushion and legroom for two adults to ride comfortably—or three in a pinch on shorter trips. It made the Regal more than a solo cruiser; it could carry friends to cruise nights, family on weekend getaways, or extra passengers to car shows without anyone feeling squeezed. Yet the rear center position was almost always the forgotten spot. Factory setups either left it bare or fitted a thin lap strap that’s long since turned brittle, sun-bleached, or been removed during a previous owner’s “simplification.” Riding in the middle meant crossing your fingers and hoping for the best. This Seatbelt Planet rear center belt changes that equation—delivering a clean, modern lap belt without the need to buy new anchors or brackets if yours are already solid and correctly positioned.

The belt itself is a straightforward 2-point lap design built specifically for the Regal’s rear bench layout. It uses high-strength, fade-resistant webbing that stands up to UV exposure and everyday wear, available in dozens of carefully matched shades: deep charcoal or neutral gray to blend seamlessly into factory cloth or vinyl, warmer saddle tones for richer interiors, or custom colors for restorers who want a subtle personal touch. The all-metal push-button buckle is the highlight—bright chrome-plated, with that sharp, mechanical snap that feels exactly like original mid-80s GM hardware. It latches quickly, releases with one clean push, and carries the reassuring weight and sound you remember from new cars.

Because the kit notes hardware not included, it’s perfect for cars where the rear floor anchors are still present, rust-free, and correctly spaced. The belt webbing connects directly to your existing mounts—no extra brackets, no guesswork. Installation stays simple: thread the belt ends through your anchors, tighten the bolts (using your own hardware), and adjust the strap. The webbing has plenty of length and smooth sliding adjusters, so the middle rear passenger—tall, short, or anywhere in between—gets a comfortable, secure fit without twisting or bunching.
Seatbelt Planet builds this belt to exceed FMVSS 209 and 302 standards, so you get real tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and flame-retardant protection that holds up in real-world use. Owners who’ve added it often mention how the rear bench suddenly feels complete. The middle spot is no longer the awkward afterthought—it’s a proper, safe place to ride, whether for short hops or longer drives.

Vintage Car Radio ships quickly and supports the product well, so adding this focused upgrade is effortless.

In short, this Seatbelt Planet 1982-1987 Buick Regal Rear Center Seat Belt (hardware not included) is the ideal choice when your anchors are already good to go. It brings back the full usability of the rear bench with fresh webbing, correct chrome hardware, and dependable lap-belt security—making three-across rear seating practical and safe again. Order from Vintage Car Radio today—give your Regal’s rear bench the center spot it always deserved and keep those classic memories rolling comfortably.
