Product Description
1989-1997 Honda Passport, Driver or Passenger Seat Belt
- One front position, driver or passenger
- Three-point retractable lap and shoulder belt
- End release buckle
- Hardware included
Honda entered the SUV market with the first Passport, a twin of the Isuzu Rodeo. This Seatbelt Planet belt replaces one of its front seat restraints.
Fitment
For one front seat, driver or passenger, of the first-generation Passport. The Honda Passport was a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo; the first generation was sold for 1994-1997, so Seatbelt Planet's 1989-1997 range reaches back before the Passport existed.
Webbing Colors
Fifty-two colors are offered.
Why Replace?
First-generation Passports are now thirty years old, and many front belts are frayed or slow.
Belt Care
Clean the strap with soap and water and dry it extended.
About the Honda Passport
The first Passport was built by Subaru-Isuzu Automotive in Indiana and used Isuzu's 2.6 liter four or 3.2 liter V6.
Pre-Install Checklist
Check the pillar mount and floor anchor.
Good to Know
Hardware is included.
Seatbelt Planet makes it to order.
Order the pair if both sides are worn.
Match the color to the opposite belt.
First-generation Passports came with either a 2.6 liter four-cylinder or a 3.2 liter V6, and both two-wheel and four-wheel drive were offered.
Seatbelt Planet sells this as a single belt for one front seat, so order one for each side if both are worn.
Front belts in these early SUVs are now thirty years old, and many are frayed or slow.
Pull the old belt out and check for cuts or stiff spots.
If your SUV's title shows a year before 1994, it is not a Passport, so call us to sort out the right part.
The VIN on the dash will confirm the year.
Gray and blue interiors were common in these Passports.
Many owners use first-generation Passports for trail driving and camping, and the belts take a lot of dust.
The pair kit for the same SUV covers both front seats at once.
Matching the opposite side's color keeps the cabin looking even.
Early Passports were sold in DX, LX and EX trims, with the V6 standard on the upper trims and four-wheel drive offered on most.
These first-generation SUVs have a squarer, more upright cabin than the later version, and the front restraints anchor to the B-pillar in a conventional layout.
If you are working on an Isuzu Rodeo of the same years, call us, since the two models share much of their interior.
First-generation Passport owners can check the door jamb label for the build month and year before calling.
A single first-gen Passport restraint lets you replace only the worn side.
An early Passport whose original belt has been cut or chewed by a pet is a common reason to order this single restraint.
Owners who keep their first-generation Passport for camping trips appreciate a front belt that retracts smoothly instead of lying on the floor.
