Custom Autosound's Slidebar Radio for the 1969-72 Chevy Chevelle gives you a completely authentic looking stereo without giving up modern technology, and it fits the dash without modifications.
Two Displays in One
The Slidebar gives you a true working slidebar display and a full-featured digital display in the same stereo. Slide the bar in the center of the radio to the right to hide the analog slidebar and reveal the digital display underneath. Large OEM-style pushbuttons complement the look of the Chevelle, and the display offers seven backlight colors so you can match your instrument lighting.

Fit
This version fits the factory radio opening of the 1969-72 Chevelle without modifications. Custom Autosound's fitment notes say it does not fit cars with the SS dash or an SS radio bezel installed, so check your dash before ordering and contact us if you are unsure.

Kick Panels and Speakers
The 1969-72 Chevelle has a single dash speaker location. A front dual voice coil speaker gives stereo from that spot, kick panels add front speakers without cutting the doors, and a rear 6x9 pair fills the back. With four pre-outs and a subwoofer output, you can add amplifiers later.
Electrical Requirements
Custom Autosound radios run on 12-volt negative ground. Inspect the car's wiring before installing, add a fuse to the power lead and test the radio before reassembling the dash.

Custom Autosound radios sold by Vintage Car Radio carry a 2-year warranty.
Why the Slidebar
Many Chevelle owners want modern sound but not a digital screen in a classic dash. With the bar slid left, the Slidebar looks like a period radio; slide it right and you have RDS text, USB, iPod control and Bluetooth.
