The 1958-1971 Austin Healey Sprite Driver & Passenger Seat Belt Kit from Vintage Car Radio represents an outstanding upgrade for enthusiasts who cherish their classic British roadsters while prioritizing modern safety. The iconic Austin-Healey Sprite, affectionately known as the "Frogeye" in its Mk1 form and evolving through Mk2 to Mk4 variants until 1971, delivered pure driving joy with its lightweight design, nimble handling, and affordable sports car spirit. Produced by BMC in collaboration with Donald Healey, these little cars captured hearts worldwide with their open-top fun and spirited performance.

Early Sprites often came without factory-fitted seat belts or with minimal provisions, reflecting the era's standards. As safety awareness grew, retrofitting became essential for spirited drives on today's roads. Vintage Car Radio's Driver & Passenger Seat Belt Kit addresses this perfectly, offering a high-quality, period-appropriate solution that blends seamlessly with the Sprite's vintage aesthetic.

This kit stands out for its exceptional craftsmanship and thoughtful design. Featuring durable, high-strength webbing in classic colors that complement the Sprite's interior—whether black, red, or neutral tones—the belts provide reliable restraint without compromising the car's charming originality. The hardware includes robust mounting points, heavy-duty bolts, and secure anchors engineered for straightforward installation into the existing floor pan and rear structure. Many owners praise how the kit mounts cleanly, often utilizing the rear wheel arch or designated points for a factory-like appearance.

What truly elevates this kit is its commitment to safety without sacrificing style. Options include reliable buckle styles—such as push-button or lift-latch mechanisms—that evoke the 1960s era while meeting contemporary standards for secure fastening. The belts deliver peace of mind on twisty backroads or highway jaunts, ensuring you and your passenger stay protected during enthusiastic motoring. Enthusiasts report smooth operation, with some variants offering retractable convenience that keeps the cockpit tidy when the top is down.

Vintage Car Radio, a trusted name in classic car accessories, sources components built to last, using premium materials resistant to wear from sun, weather, and time. This kit enhances drivability for shows, tours, or daily enjoyment, preserving the Sprite's fun-to-drive character while adding a vital layer of security. Installation is typically DIY-friendly with clear instructions, making it accessible for restorers and weekend mechanics alike.

For Sprite owners—from pristine Bugeye restorations to spirited Mk4 cruisers—this seat belt kit is a smart, worthwhile investment. It honors the car's heritage while embracing responsible modern motoring. Drive with confidence, knowing your classic Austin-Healey Sprite is equipped for both thrills and safety.
