Product Description
1980-1991 Volkswagen Vanagon, Driver or Passenger, Seat Belt
Seatbelt Planet's 1980-1991 Volkswagen Vanagon, Driver or Passenger, Seat Belt. 3 Point Retractable Lap & Shoulder Seat Belt Kit with End Release Buckle
The Seatbelt Planet 1980-1991 Volkswagen Vanagon, Driver or Passenger, Seat Belt, sold by Vintage Car Radio, provides a single-position replacement for the front seats of these popular Transporters.
The Vanagon earned its reputation as a capable long-distance and weekend adventure vehicle. Many examples accumulated high mileage in family travel, camping and everyday use, and the driver’s belt in particular often shows the heaviest wear. In other cases a restoration or interior refresh leaves only one side needing attention. A full matched pair is not always required.
This Seatbelt Planet product is a single 3-point lap-and-shoulder belt configured for either the driver or passenger position in the 1980-1991 Vanagon. The webbing is strong, UV-resistant polyester that retains its strength and appearance over time, available in colors that can be coordinated with common interior shades. The buckle is a solid metal design with a positive, mechanical latch. Matching hardware allows the belt to integrate cleanly with the existing cabin.
The belt is manufactured to meet the performance requirements of FMVSS 209 for tensile strength, controlled elongation, abrasion resistance and buckle function. Adjustment range accommodates different occupants while preserving the upright, practical seating position of these vehicles.
Installation is intended to work with the original mounting points. All necessary fasteners are included. In most cases only limited preparation is required. Important: torque values and the assembly sequence must be taken exclusively from the instructions supplied with the kit. Correct tightening is essential for the system to perform as designed.
Owners who only need to replace one front belt gain a practical, focused improvement. The selected seat receives modern three-point protection without forcing a complete front-seat replacement, and the Vanagon’s spacious, versatile character remains unchanged.
Vintage Car Radio supplies this Seatbelt Planet belt with the correct hardware and guidance, keeping the installation process clear for both professional workshops and experienced owners.
The result is a simple, effective update that restores proper restraint exactly where it is needed. The Volkswagen Vanagon keeps its identity as a classic adventure Transporter; the chosen front seat is brought back to a reliable standard. Order from Vintage Car Radio and equip the seat that requires attention with a restraint solution matched to this versatile vehicle.
