The 1993-1997 Ford Ranger was one of the best-selling compact pickups of its time, and many still serve as daily drivers and work trucks. This lap and shoulder belt replaces either the driver or passenger belt in a standard cab Ranger with a bench seat.
Fitment
It uses an all-metal style buckle and comes with mounting hardware. Each belt handles one outboard position, so order two to redo both sides. Seatbelt Planet lists it for 1993 through 1997 standard cab Rangers fitted with a bench. SuperCab trucks and bucket-seat trucks are covered by other listings.
Webbing Colors
Fifty-two colors are available, from black and gray to bright shades. A few specialty colors add a small charge. Rangers of this era usually had gray, blue or tan interiors, and each has a close standard match.
Why Replace Old Belts?
Rangers are popular work trucks and first trucks. Thirty years of daily use wear out the retractor and webbing, and slow retraction is a common complaint. A new lap and shoulder belt restores smooth operation and peace of mind for whoever drives.
Caring for Your Belts
Keep the retractor area clean, and do not let the strap get caught in the door. Wash the webbing with mild soap if it gets dirty, and let it dry before retracting. Replace any belt that has been worn in a crash.
About the Ford Ranger Standard
Ford's 1993 refresh gave the Ranger rounded styling and a new interior, and that design stayed through 1997 before another update. Rangers from this era are known as reliable, simple trucks that are easy to keep running.
Before You Install
Check the B-pillar anchor and the floor mounting point for rust before you start. Since hardware is included, you will not need to source bolts, but you should still clean the threads. Route the shoulder portion so it crosses the chest without rubbing the neck.
Good to Know
Some Ranger owners swap in seats from other trucks, which can change where the belts sit. If your truck still has its original bench, this belt should line up with the factory points. If the seat has been changed, measure the anchor locations before ordering. Getting the geometry right ensures the shoulder portion crosses the chest correctly, which is key for comfort on long drives as well as for protection.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a pair?
No. One belt covers either the driver or passenger.
Is mounting hardware included?
Yes.
Does it fit a SuperCab Ranger?
This listing is for the standard cab with a bench.
Will the new belt retract better than my old one?
A worn retractor is often why old Ranger belts hang loose or retract slowly. A new belt comes with a fresh retractor mechanism, so it should pay out and wind back smoothly once it is mounted correctly and the webbing is not twisted.
