Product Description
Custom Autosound kick panels add speakers in the front footwells while keeping a factory look. Dash speakers are the usual upgrade, but kick panels give you better placement and fuller stereo without cutting the car.
Features
- No-modification fit in the factory kick panel area
- Most models use 6.5-inch coaxial 2-way speakers rated at 80 watts
- 1955-59 Chevy trucks use 4-inch 2-way speakers rated at 60 watts
- Optional Pioneer 6.5-inch coaxial speaker upgrade
- Black textured ABS plastic that can be painted to match your interior
Choose Your Version
The Kickpanel Type menu offers panels without speakers, the Custom Autosound speaker version or the Pioneer upgrade. The order form also asks for Year, Make, Model and Factory Air, since air conditioning ducts can affect the panel shape.
Why Kick Panels
Speakers low in the footwells fire toward the listener and create a wider stereo image than a single dash speaker. Combined with a dual voice coil dash speaker and a rear pair, they give a full system that still looks original.
Matching the Interior
The panels come in black texture, and they can be painted to match the color of your interior.
Installation
The panels are designed to fit the factory location without modification. Run speaker wires neatly behind the trim and test each speaker before putting the interior back together.
Pairing With a Radio
Kick panels work well with Custom Autosound radios, whose 4-way fader lets you balance the front and rear speakers.
Keep Your Originals
Store any original parts you remove in a labeled box. Many owners like to keep them with the car's records.
Test Before Finishing
Play music through every speaker and check the fader and balance before putting trim panels back in place.
Wiring Tips
Use good connectors and keep wires away from sharp edges and moving parts.
Getting Help
If you are not sure which version fits your vehicle, contact us with your year, make and model before ordering.
Setting the Sound
Start with the tone controls near flat, then adjust for your cabin.
Planning a System
Think about where every speaker will go before ordering, so the radio, dash speaker, kick panels and rear speakers work together.
Choosing Speakers
Many classics have one dash speaker. A dual voice coil speaker carries both stereo channels from that location, and a rear 6x9 pair, Custom Autosound or upgraded Pioneer, fills in the back.
Fit Questions
Dashes changed often, even within a model line. If you are unsure which version you need, have your year, model and any dash changes ready when you contact us.
Amplifier Ready
The 4-channel RCA pre-outs make it easy to add an amplifier for more power or a subwoofer for deeper bass, without replacing the radio.
Everyday Use
Presets, seek and a clear display make the radio easy to live with, and the auxiliary input means your phone's music, podcasts and navigation prompts can come through the car's speakers.
