Product Description
The 1964-65 Chevelle launched Chevy's legendary A-body line, and the SS versions became muscle car favorites. This KHE-300-USB by Ken Harrison is custom designed for the 1964-65 Chevelle dash, combining pushbutton presets with Bluetooth, USB and SD card playback.
Fit and Ordering
This version is made for the 1964-65 Chevelle factory dash, so it fits without cutting.
What Makes It Different
Ken Harrison designed the KHE-300 to give classic cars modern sources while keeping a period look. The extended preset buttons work like an old pushbutton radio, and the blue-lit LCD shows the clock and frequency clearly.
Keeping the Dash Original
The dash is one of the first things people notice in a classic. A radio built to fit the factory opening keeps it looking right, protects the value of the car and avoids permanent changes, while still giving you the convenience of modern sources.

Kick Panels for the Chevelle
This listing also offers kick panels with speakers, without speakers or with a Pioneer upgrade. Kick panels are a popular way to add front stereo speakers to an early Chevelle without cutting the doors, and they pair well with a rear 6x9 set.
Getting the Best Sound
Start with fresh speakers and good wiring. Old paper cones and corroded connections hold back even a great radio. Set the bass and treble modestly at first, then adjust for your cabin; open cars and trucks usually need a little more bass than closed coupes and sedans.
Before You Install
The KHE-300 requires a 12-volt negative ground electrical system. A 6-volt or positive ground vehicle will need a converter, so check your system before ordering.
Disconnect the battery before you start, check the old wiring behind the dash for brittle insulation and use a fused feed with a solid chassis ground. A qualified auto sound shop can handle the job if you prefer. Vintage Car Radio sells the radio and accessories but does not offer installation.
Rear Speakers
A rear 6x9 pair, Custom Autosound or upgraded Pioneer, fills in the back of the Chevelle cabin and works with the radio's 4-way fader.

KHE-300 wiring and tech tips
Ken Harrison manuals recommend installation by an auto radio specialist if you are not comfortable with 12 V work.
- Confirm the vehicle is 12 V negative ground before connecting (use a converter for 6 V or positive-ground cars).
- Disconnect a battery terminal before wiring.
- Use a fused power source and a clean chassis ground.
- Bench-test the radio before final mounting when practical.
- Connect the antenna lead and the auto-antenna power wire only if your antenna is compatible.
- Match speaker polarity; do not short speaker leads to ground.
Application: 1964-65 Chevelle (confirm fitment from the product title before install). Vintage Car Radio does not offer installation.
