Product Description
The USA-630 is the latest step in Custom Autosound's quest for the perfect classic car radio. Its large OEM-style push buttons look right at home in a classic dash, but behind them are modern features like an iPod dock. You can browse your iPod by artist, song, album or playlist from the radio's buttons, so the iPod can stay hidden in the glove box or console. A USB input on the back plays MP3/WMA files from a flash drive, and the alphanumeric display shows song, artist and album titles from USB, iPod and RDS radio stations. With the optional BluKit, you can stream music from a Bluetooth phone or player, skip tracks with the radio's track-up button, and take hands-free calls while the music mutes automatically. At 300 watts peak, it has all the power most people need. If you want more, four pre-out jacks on the back connect optional amplifiers, and an auxiliary input accepts satellite radio or any portable player.
Custom Autosound has been delivering great sound in classic cars for decades, and its USA-630 is a perfect replacement radio for the classic 1975-77 Oldsmobile Cutlass. This top-of-the-line radio has AM/FM stereo and an RDS tuner that shows artists, songs and stations on its clear LCD screen. It has 300 watts of power, 100 watts more than the USA-230, which is a lot of power for its size. Its redesign offers an improved experience in your classic.
The USA-630 has a USB port for WMA and MP3 playback and direct control of a 6-disc CD changer. The negative display with its black background gives it a special look. Custom Autosound took great care to make it look classic so it blends perfectly into a 1975-77 Cutlass, and the alphanumeric display of iPod, WMA and MP3 files adds a modern touch. Volume control and electronic tuning are seamless, with loudness compensation.
It has a digital EQ, 4-way fader, an always-on digital clock and left/right balance. It also has a 2-channel RCA auxiliary input and 16 presets (12 FM, 4 AM) to save you time. Treble and bass controls deliver clean sound, the tuner switches between USA and Euro frequencies, and a power antenna lead helps you enjoy your favorite stations. Suggested order for a 1975-1977 Cutlass
- Disconnect the vehicle battery before any wiring.
- Connect ground first, then constant (yellow) and ignition (red).
- Connect the antenna plug and the blue power-antenna lead if your car has a power antenna.
- Wire all four speakers, matching polarity.
- If using an amplifier, run RCA cables from the front/rear (and sub on USA-740/USA-850) pre-outs.
- Reconnect the battery and test radio, speakers, and charging system voltage.
Tech tips for 1975-1977 Cutlass
- This radio is sold for the factory Cutlass opening used in 1975-1977 models—do not cut a modern DIN rectangle if you want a stock look.
- A poor ground is the most common cause of whine or weak audio; scrape paint at the ground point and use a star washer.
- If AM reception is weak, check the antenna mast, cable continuity, and that the antenna plug is fully seated.
- Vintage Car Radio does not install radios. If you are not comfortable with 12V wiring, use a qualified installer.
