Aurora Design FMR-DRH1 HD Radio™ Digital Radio Module for the FMR-3.2

The FMR-DRH1 is an optional digital radio module that adds HD Radio™ Technology to an original classic radio converted with Aurora Design's FMR-3.2 AM/FM receiver. Aurora Design describes the FMR-3.2 as the first and only conversion for an original classic radio to support digital radio worldwide. In North America, the FMR-DRH1 is the module that provides it.

What HD Radio Adds

HD Radio™ broadcasts digital audio alongside regular analog AM and FM signals. With the FMR-DRH1 installed, you can hear clear, static-free digital AM and FM. FM stations can also carry sub-channels, which add more stations and different kinds of content beyond the main signal. Like the rest of the FMR family, the FMR-DRH1 lives inside the radio. Your dial, knobs and pushbuttons stay factory-correct, and digital reception works through the original controls. The FMR-3.2 automatically detects installed options, so no setup is required. With a BTU Smart-3.2 or BTL/BTC Smart-3.2, you can also fine-tune the radio from the FMR Connect™ app.

Built Like an OEM Component

Aurora Design builds its automotive products to OEM standards, using the same kinds of components found in many new vehicles, and designs them to withstand faults like accidental battery reversal and SAE transients. Production takes place in a 33,000 sq. ft. ISO 9001:2000 facility with 2D and 3D X-ray inspection and full component-level traceability.

FMR-DRH1 or FMR-DRD1?

Aurora Design offers two digital radio modules for the FMR-3.2. The FMR-DRH1 covers HD Radio™ for North America. The FMR-DRD1 covers DAB/DAB+ for Europe, Asia and other regions where DAB broadcasting is used. For a car driven in the United States or Canada, the FMR-DRH1 is the right choice.

Requirements

The FMR-DRH1 is an option for the Aurora Design FMR-3.2 AM/FM receiver and isn't a standalone radio. If your radio has an older FMR-3.0 or earlier conversion, or no conversion yet, contact us about upgrading to the FMR-3.2. Six-volt and positive-ground cars also need the HPC-1 converter to power the receiver.
