Product Description
The USA-630 is the latest step in Custom Autosound's quest for the perfect classic car radio. Its large OEM-style push buttons look right at home in a classic dash, but behind them are modern features like an iPod dock. You can browse your iPod by artist, song, album or playlist from the radio's buttons, so the iPod can stay hidden in the glove box or console. A USB input on the back plays MP3/WMA files from a flash drive, and the alphanumeric display shows song, artist and album titles from USB, iPod and RDS radio stations. With the optional BluKit, you can stream music from a Bluetooth phone or player, skip tracks with the radio's track-up button, and take hands-free calls while the music mutes automatically. At 300 watts peak, it has all the power most people need. If you want more, four pre-out jacks on the back connect optional amplifiers, and an auxiliary input accepts satellite radio or any portable player.
Everyone likes music on a drive, so the stereo is a favorite part of any classic car. Built for the 1964 Chevy El Camino, the Custom Autosound USA-630 delivers the best in audio technology while keeping your classic radio look. It's made to fit your stock dash without modifications, and its large OEM-style push buttons complement your classic dash. It has AM/FM stereo and a button to switch between USA and Euro tuner frequencies.
The USA-630 has 16 presets (12 FM, 4 AM) for your favorite stations, 4-channel RCA pre-outs for an extra amplifier and 300 watts for loud, distortion-free music. Left/right balance sets the level between speakers, and the 4-way fader and separate treble and bass give you complete control of your sound. The USA-630 for the 1964 Chevy El Camino also has volume control, a digital EQ, loudness compensation, electronic tuning, a power antenna lead and an always-on digital clock.
On the tech side, the USA-630 has a USB input for playing digital song files, and a stylish alphanumeric display shows the song title and artist during playback. Its built-in CD controller fully controls a 6-disc CD changer. An auxiliary input lets you play music from a phone, satellite radio or any other portable player. - Connect the antenna plug and the blue power-antenna lead if your car has a power antenna.
- Wire all four speakers, matching polarity.
- If using an amplifier, run RCA cables from the front/rear (and sub on USA-740/USA-850) pre-outs.
- Reconnect the battery and test radio, speakers, and charging system voltage.
Tech tips for 1964 El Camino
- This radio is sold for the factory El Camino opening used in 1964 models—do not cut a modern DIN rectangle if you want a stock look.
- A poor ground is the most common cause of whine or weak audio; scrape paint at the ground point and use a star washer.
- If AM reception is weak, check the antenna mast, cable continuity, and that the antenna plug is fully seated.
- Vintage Car Radio does not install radios. If you are not comfortable with 12V wiring, use a qualified installer.
