Product Description
Oldsmobile Had Muscle
Back in the day, carmakers competed to build the best muscle car, and Oldsmobile did a great job with its 1970-72 models, except for the radio. Your Oldsmobile muscle car needs a muscle radio.
That radio is the Custom Autosound USA-630. Pound for pound, it's all muscle, with some of the best sound you'll ever hear.
Powerful Features
There's no beating around the bush: the USA-630 has a lot of muscle. Its 300 watts of power make it a powerhouse in your dash. With a power antenna lead and RDS tuner, you can tune in almost any station, with 16 AM/FM presets (12 FM, 4 AM).
Volume, bass, treble and balance controls plus a digital EQ make sure what you hear sounds its best.
That's not all. 4-channel RCA pre-outs, 2-channel aux inputs and a 4-way fader help everything work at its best, and you can play MP3, WMA, iPod and CD changer music.
The tuner displays song and artist names in white letters on a black background for easy reading. The muscle is there, waiting for you to unleash it.
Even the Clock Has Muscle
To top it off, the built-in clock gets you where you need to be on time. The USA-630 is the muscle you need in your 1970-72 Oldsmobile 442.
The USA-630 is the latest step in Custom Autosound's quest for the perfect classic car radio. Its large OEM-style push buttons look right at home in a classic dash, but behind them are modern features like an iPod dock. You can browse your iPod by artist, song, album or playlist from the radio's buttons, so the iPod can stay hidden in the glove box or console. A USB input on the back plays MP3/WMA files from a flash drive, and the alphanumeric display shows song, artist and album titles from USB, iPod and RDS radio stations. With the optional BluKit, you can stream music from a Bluetooth phone or player, skip tracks with the radio's track-up button, and take hands-free calls while the music mutes automatically. At 300 watts peak, it has all the power most people need. If you want more, four pre-out jacks on the back connect optional amplifiers, and an auxiliary input accepts satellite radio or any portable player.

Suggested order for a 1970-1972 442

- Connect ground first, then constant (yellow) and ignition (red).
- Connect the antenna plug and the blue power-antenna lead if your car has a power antenna.
- Wire all four speakers, matching polarity.
- If using an amplifier, run RCA cables from the front/rear (and sub on USA-740/USA-850) pre-outs.
- Reconnect the battery and test radio, speakers, and charging system voltage.
Tech tips for 1970-1972 442
- This radio is sold for the factory 442 opening used in 1970-1972 models—do not cut a modern DIN rectangle if you want a stock look.
- A poor ground is the most common cause of whine or weak audio; scrape paint at the ground point and use a star washer.
- If AM reception is weak, check the antenna mast, cable continuity, and that the antenna plug is fully seated.
- Vintage Car Radio does not install radios. If you are not comfortable with 12V wiring, use a qualified installer.
