Antique Automobile Radio

The Ford Fairlane has many masks. Some see it as one of the original economy car or your grandma's car. It was the ugly duckling of the early '60s. They were kind of dumpy; they came in four doors too, ugh. But then in 1964 something happened. Ford decided to take on all comers in drag racing. The Fairlane was considered a small car (even though it was really more mid-sized) and most smart people knew that if you put a big engine in a small car you'd go really fast. Ford knew this and so the Thunderbolt was born. There were only a hundred or so made but they were awesome. All the top drag racers of the time lined up and begged Ford for one. They had the big 427 side oiler and were stripped of any unnecessary parts to lighten it up even more and they were fast. Many records were made and many legends were born. Now nearly every '64 Fairlane is said to be a Thunderbolt, which of course there not. Even better is now the Fairlane is ripe material for the hot rodder. The old econo-box is now a genuine street terror.
